Stimulus-Schimulus

No need to crunch numbers and post all sorts of fancy charts and graphs. My local barber even reminded me, “There are lots of things happening in our local community that doesn’t require watching the news to learn about.” It seems to me that government spending and taxing has increased year after year…along with the rates of poverty and joblessness (note: “unemployment” is a political term).

It is utterly disgusting to see government pumping all this cash into new programs, but entrust the same management, which has presided over the traditional failures, to oversee the distribution of the funds and setup of new programs. It doesn’t take an expert to presume that the funds will be subjected to the greedy hands of the bureaucrats, before whatever’s left gets to the hands of those who need it most.

Corporate greed and fraud has been increasingly rewarded with government handouts and slaps on the wrist. Social programs have been under constant fire by ‘fiscal conservatives’. The workforce has experienced a beating by outsourcing, causing a dynamic shift from a tech to service driven labor demand.

So, I suspect that only the näive are actually surprised to hear reports that analysts are suggesting the stimulus bills aren’t having the intended effect.
